ZoTata Lyrics English Translation

Ma-iye, you will find me
I miss it
I beg for the Dollar
Life is a joy, a necessity
Mara opened it and cried
Mara opened it and cried

Ma-iye, you will find me
I miss it
I’m begging for a dollar
Life is a joy, it’s a necessity
Mara opened it and cried
Mara opened it and cried

Because it’s a dollar
Danko, man
He will take this one
He’s going to buy it
I also didn’t know where to take it
I also didn’t know where to take it

Ai-yah, I want you to tell me where you are going to take it
– Where, where, where
It’s so sweet, where will you leave it, where will you go, where will you take it?

Ma-iye, you will find me
I miss it
I beg for the Dollar
Life is a joy, a necessity
Just open it up and I cried (Yes)
Mara opened it and cried

Ma-iye, you will find me
I miss it
I’m begging for a dollar
Life is a joy, it’s a must whoa
Mara opened it and cried
Mara opened it and cried

Because it’s a dollar
Pass
He will take this one
He’s going to buy it
I also didn’t know where to take it
I also didn’t know where to take it

I want you to tell me where you are going to take it
– Where, where, where
It’s so sweet, where will you leave it, where will you go, where will you take it?

Aye-aye, 3255 coastal we are awake
These guys are about to make a movie
Marazzo’s sun is burning the ceiling
Anyone who has a problem can’t enter the building
Ooh, aah, how long did we think of it
There is a change in these days
Let’s get the old ones
There were many camp pickers
How long did we wait for them
(Wait, wait)
(Wait, wait)
(Wait, wait, wait)
(Wait, wait)

(Ii-ii, cried, ii-ii, cried)
(Ii-ii, cried, ii-ii, cried)

(Thataph’, uzol’thataph’)
(Lona ta, zol’chenga)
Lona ta, go shopping
I also didn’t know where to take it
I also didn’t know where to take it

I want you to tell me where you are going to take it
– Where, where, where
It’s so sweet, where will you leave it, where will you go, where will you take it?

Simi – “Duduke” (Song)

Simi - Duduke

Studiobrat boss lady, Simi finally dishes out her highly anticipated single – “Duduke”.

The long wait is over as Nigeria’s famous Songstress, Simi releases her 2020 debut titled “Duduke“. The talented vocalist linked up with favorite producer, Oscar, and they both created magic once again.

Duduke” is a mid-tempo pop record blend with the Afro-life vibe.  Simi uses to describe the way her heart beats for the love of her life. The Guardian Angel she prays for daily and love whole heartily. “Duduke” is the Yoruba word for heartbeat, and within the context of this song, “Duduke” is used to describe the sounds produced from her heartbeats while she longs for her lover. At the time of its release, It truly felt like a love song but little did we know that Simi’s intentions were way deeper than a regular love song.

Its beautiful visuals made us understand the singer wasn’t referring to her husband, Adekunle Gold but her unborn child. She wrote this as an expectant mother waiting for the birth of her child which is a wonderful one in a lifetime experience so every beat, lyric, and note was perfect. Simi makes those who are yet to understand a mother’s love get a grasp of what it means to love someone you haven’t even seen yet.

Lyrics like “I can not wait to see you, you are the treasure I’ve been waiting for ” tells you a mother’s love is the strongest, most unconditional, and purest love of all. Thanks to Oscar who made us realize that the Simi of “Jamb Question” and is still very much alive. The instrumental was fantastic, but Simi’s amazing and sonorous vocals did a lot of justice to this record. She did beautifully with amazing melodies, nice vocal dexterity, and of course withy beautifully composed lyrics. The entire track is top-notch and perfect.

Burna Boy – It’s Plenty (Song)

Burna Boy It’s Plenty, Produced by ElementZ & JAE5.

Burna Boy It's Plenty

Burna Boy IT’s PLENTY, is a song of celebration, specially made for outsiders. The ElementZ & JAE5 produced track is off Burna’s sixth studio album titled, “Love, Damini“.

Grammy Award winning singer, Burna Boy defined Afro-Fusion in “Love, Damini” with open sincerity and Finesse. One thing we can’t take from Burna is the truth that he is Hip-Hop oriented and wants everyone to know he is versatile too; he defined Afro-Fusion on this album.

More like an experiment; Burna Boy’s sound has evolved with each passing album, and international fans can see that fearlessness and understand the influence and distinctness of African rhythm, Fela’s Music; and Burna Boy’s love for the music of the West.

It’s Plenty Notable Lyrics;

Gbe mi trabaye
Make you no dey shalaye
I don’t want nobody to give my matter k-leg
For this life I dey, I want to be celebrated
Don’t wanna waste my days
I want to spend them on enjoyment

It’s plenty oh ahh

See Tracklist below

Catch Me If You Can Album is a sensual slow burn steeped heavily in Afrobeats, with a nod to Amapiano. In subject matter, it is both irreverent and earnest. Listen below and GET HERE

Adekunle Gold gives an insight each track on CMIYC project, Talks how they were recorded, Read…

“Born Again” (feat. Fatoumata Diawara)
The original title of the song was ‘Welcome To My Life, You’re Not Too Late’, but my people said it was too long. So I went with ‘Born again’. This song is the energetic intro that introduces the album. A lyric like, ‘When I turned 30/It dawned on me/That I’ve been living for people/but me,’ was my realisation that the kind of music I was making, the clothes I wore, my hairstyle, how I wanted my body to be like—I was doing all this for other people. It is now time for me to do things for myself…because I am now completely independent as a person.”

“Win”
This song is my way of giving a shout out to my mom, my friends who held me down for years, and to my fans. But most importantly, it’s a shout out to me for not giving up on myself. I’ve had to be resilient and tenacious to get to where I am. And now I just want to win.”

“Mase Mi”
The title is in Yoruba. It means, ‘Don’t tempt me’. I’m talking to Satan in this song, saying ‘Don’t tempt me. Tempt somebody else’s son. Not today, Satan.’ When I was writing the song I was in a trance. I danced all through the recording of the song. It made me so happy. I felt like the hosts of heaven were with me. I was asking God to protect me, to let me have love in my heart.”

“One Woman” (feat. Ty Dolla $ign)
I wrote this song in during the pandemic in 2020, in my little closet. I was losing my mind. I wanted to say that I’m shamelessly a lover-man. I actually taught Ty Dolla $ign to sing in Igbo and Pidgin. He was so gracious and ready to learn. We had so much fun. The chemistry was so great. ”

“Mercy”
This is my absolute jam. I was just thinking about how you can be in bed with people who don’t even like you; and you don’t even know. People that you think are for you, are sometimes not for you at all. The first line that came to me was, ‘Open my eyes/show me who day for me.’ Interestingly, since I wrote this song—it’s almost like a personal prayer for me—some people have themselves. I realised they are not the people that I want in my life. It’s not an obsession finding who your enemy is; the intention is to know who has the right energy and should be in your midst.”

“More Than Enough”
This song is a holiday. When I was writing it I had no worries at all. I was just thinking of the times when you want to take your significant other out and just spoil them.”

“Sinner”
“I wanted to write about the story of King David and Bathsheba from the Bible, but from my own perspective. I thought Bathsheba must have been an African; she’s so beautiful. She must have had a great bum that she almost caused the fall of a king. David was ready to risk it all.”

“FYE” (feat. Stefflon Don)
This is the last song I wrote this song in London, with Stefflon Don. I was in the studio with Rymez and Lekaa, and we were just vibing. It’s definitely my top 3 in the album. It’s the song where I was my nastiest.”

“Sleep”
This one is interesting. It’s the one song that I wanted a song that was extremely different to the rest of the album. When we were recording the song I fell asleep, which I never do in studio. When the producer woke me up to end the session because he thought I was tired, I refused. I really think this song should be on people’s sex playlist.”

“High”
Back in January 2021, I was with my friend, chilling at a poolside, and he was playing Amapiano in the background. I was like, ‘What is this sound?’ Amapiano is God’s gifeat. to South Africa. It is absolutely beautiful and nobody can make it like South Africans.”

“Dior Dior Dior” (feat. Fousheé)
I wrote this song the same week I wrote “High”. I’d set up my studio in an AirBnb because I just wanted to get away from home. I was unpacking my bag and then I saw my Dior cologne. Seeing it inspired me to create a double entendre of the cologne as a girl; the same way musicians used to do about cars.”

“It Is What It Is”
I just wanted to share a few facts about life. Like how people who don’t feed you are the first to talk about you; and how money doesn’t bring you happiness. I knew that people would come for me, saying that I’m a hypocrite because I have money. But even I didn’t realise that it doesn’t bring you happiness until I got it. Having said that, I’m still praying that others get money too.”

“Selah”
This song is about Geminis. I’m not that into horoscopes, but I hear a lot about how crazy Geminis are. But the plot twist is that my daughter is a Gemini and I hope she forgives me when she grows up.”

“Catch Me If You Can”
I also wrote this one during the pandemic, in the same closet that I wrote ‘One Woman’ in. This song almost tells the entire story of the album. It’s about my journey: how hard I worked to get where I am. I know that people say that people must be given their flowers, but I’m at the point where I’m getting my own flowers. A whole field of lavender.”

[Album] Ayra Starr – “19 & Dangerous” Album ft. Fousheé (Song)

Ayra Starr 19 & Dangerous Album

Ayra Starr highly anticipated album “19 & Dangerous” is Out!

“19 & Dangerous” album houses 11 tracks, Ayra Starr features artiste, Foushee & Ckay, And worked with producers, Don Jazzy, Loudda, London and Andre Vibez.

After an impressive, self-titled 2021 EP that placed her among the vanguard of rising Nigerian pop stars, and lead single ‘Bloody Samaritan’ which is currently climbing charts, Ayra Starr delivers her official debut album.

Exploring relationships, betrayal and self-assurance on 19 & Dangerous, the artist chronicles the transition from adolescence to adulthood. “One day, it just struck me that I’m not scared of failing, I’m not scared of mistakes—I’m ready to work hard to get to where I want to,” she tells Apple Music. “No matter how much I fall, I’m prepared for it. When you know that you’re not scared of mistakes, you become dangerous, because you have nothing to lose, really. I’m 19 and I’m dangerous. I’m ready for everything.”

Throughout 19 & Dangerous, Starr remains bold and unapologetic, whether exhibiting her grandeur in banging earworms or acknowledging her vulnerabilities in heartfelt ballads. She showcases her vocal and emotional range as the project’s mood shifts from sunny to gloomy when her lyrics dictate. Ranging from R&B to pop, soul and Afropop, the album features production by London, Kel-P Vibes and Don Jazzy while Ayra and her brother, Dami Aderibigbe (aka Milar), penned most of the songs. Here, she takes us through her coming-of-age story, track by track.

“Cast (Gen Z Anthem)”

In Nigeria, when we say somebody is ‘cast’, it’s like, ‘Everybody knows her. She’s been around.’ So, I always get a lot of advice: ‘Ayra, don’t go and cast.’ Even with the smallest thing, a woman has to be a hundred times more careful than a guy. She can’t go to this place; she can’t do that because she doesn’t want to cast. The smallest thing can ruin a woman’s reputation. But I’ve come to this industry to break boundaries. So, if I cast, let me cast. In the beginning of the song, I used an Eartha Kitt interview, one of my favourite interviews of all time. She said, ‘Life is not problematic. We make it problematic.’

“Fashion Killer”

I wrote this song with my brother. We are fashion-obsessed. My brother is an A$AP Rocky fan, I’m a Rihanna fan, so we grew up with a lot of fashion. ‘Fashion Killa’ by A$AP Rocky, we loved that song. So, when London sent us the beat, we wanted something hard, something people would feel themselves, too. I could just see people on the runway to this beat.

“Lonely”

‘Lonely’ is a sweet love song. The album has different moods: You have the badass, ‘Cast’, then you have the vulnerability—that’s where ‘Lonely’ comes in. ‘Lonely’ is me telling a guy, ‘If you don’t like me back, remember that I’m only human. Watch the way you talk to me and all that. Let’s vibe and all that.’ So, ‘Lonely’ is like a lost-love heartbreak song.”

“Snitch” (feat. Fousheé)

‘Snitch’ features one of my favourite artists, Fousheé. I love her with all my heart. She’s such an amazing musician. The whole song was a freestyle. She had sent me a DM that she thinks I’m dope. Just imagine me seeing a DM from one of my favourite artists of all time. I was like, ‘I have this song that I really want you on.’ I shot my shot and she was down with it, so that was great.”

“Beggie Beggie” (feat. Ckay)

‘Beggie Beggie’ is almost like ‘Lonely’. It’s almost the same topic. The chorus means, ‘See the way I’m begging you. Do I look like those people on the streets begging for money? You’re making me feel like I’m one of those people because of the way I’m begging you. And I know you are a fine guy and all the girls like you, but I’m also a badass—some other guys like me. So, don’t use me.’ It’s a from-friends-to-lovers type of story. And I remember when I was in the studio recording it. I was like, ‘I want, like, a male POV on this story.’

“Karma”

My brother and I wrote this song in 2018 when we were still in school. This was one of the first songs we finished writing. Just thinking about it now, back then, we didn’t know that this was going to be our life. We didn’t even know we were going to record it one day. It was just something we did for fun. My brother wrote the first verse, I wrote the second one. We would imagine that he featured me on the song. We would write the whole music video treatments. Then, when Don Jazzy signed me, the first day in the studio, I started to record ‘Karma’ and I was like, this song is such an amazing song. It’s my love story with karma. Karma is such a good lover, because I didn’t ask him to do the revenge—he did it for me.”

[Album] Zlatan – “Resan Album” feat. Buju, Ms Banks, Bella Shmurda | Mp3 (Song)

Zlatan Resan Album

Resan The Album by Zlatan is finally out!!! Listen HERE!

Nigerian rapper, Zlatan drops his sophomore album titled “RESAN“. According to the Zanku records boss and president;

There were predictions that I won’t be here for long, but God and my fans have proven all naysayers wrong. For this, I’m joyous and grateful.

I’ve burnt the candle at both ends to ensure that our album is top notch. I worked my ass out to please my fans and not let y’all down. It’s been hard but it’s been worth it.’

Resan The album is a 12 track project that features; Buju, Ms Banks, Bella Shmurda, Davido, Phyno, Flavour, Rayvanny & Sho Madjozi with the previously released singles – ‘Alubarika’ and ‘Ale Yi’.

On his sophomore album, the multi-talented Zlatan Ibile takes stock of his ongoing progress as an artist. “‘Resan’ is actually a Swedish word that means ‘the journey’,” he tells Apple Music. “I called it that because there’s something particular about my journey—from being a grassroots artist to being someone that’s celebrated globally. I want the people to know what my music career has looked like so far.”

Delicately balancing cohesion and experimentation, the rapper stands firmly in his Zanku sound while exploring several themes over Amapiano, drill and highlife-infused instrumentation. This is the first time Zlatan has something different to tell, so there are improvements, new sounds and different skills.

The rapper talks Apple Music through his second album, track by track;

“That Guy”

“This is that kind of ‘Wake Up’ vibe—thanking God for life and everything. I said, ‘Many people have tried, and many people have failed/But I don’t want to be that guy.’ That means the only guy I want to be is a successful one. It’s for everybody—when you listen to the lyrics, you can now pick the kind of guy you want to become.”

“Alubarika” (feat. Buju)

“‘Alubarika’ means ‘certain’, and this is like a prayer song as well. As I’m going and coming—when I leave my house—success must come out of it. I was just at home in 2019 and saw a tweet saying, ‘I want Zlatan on this song’. I didn’t really know who he was then, but fast-forward to 2021 and Buju is one of the hottest artists in Nigeria. I’m happy for him and happy I could play a little role in his journey as well.”

“Level”

“‘Level’ is for the gals dem! I’m using this one to praise all the girls. Just as you’re built, don’t look down on yourself. You have level on your own and don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t.”

“Shakur” (feat. Ms Banks)

“This is a drill song, and I just felt I needed a UK rapper on it. I recorded it in Lagos but was in London a while back. Ms Banks is my G, and we were in studio together; I played the track for her and she loved it. ‘Shakur’ is Yoruba slang where you’re saying, ‘You’re free to show yourself and free to feel yourself’.”

“Polongo” (feat. Bella Shmurda)

“The chemistry between me and Bella is spiritual. He’s someone I’ve always known had something in him that the world needs to listen to. During COVID, we connected more and had music camps together. We were recording so many songs and that’s how we got his ‘Cash App’ track, ‘Hallelu’ with Masterkraft and this one. We recorded around that time period, but this is a different vibe entirely. We actually got inspiration from Danfo Drivers, who are some Nigerian OGs who did that highlife kind of sound.”

“Egun”

“I recorded this song two years ago, and every time I was making a project, I’d try to infuse it. I lost the data, and there’s always something with making a beat again! I wasn’t comfortable with the beats I was making, but I was able to work with P.Priime, who delivered. The tempo went down a bit ’cause I really wanted everybody to listen. This is a marital song, talking about us not being unfortunate by going into wedlock with someone that’s not meant for us.”

“One Life”

“This is for my party people! You only live once, whether you like it or not, and you actually need to live it to the fullest. I worked on this song with a producer named Willis, who actually produced ‘Celebrate Me’ by Patoranking. I like to work with young people that have drive and hunger ’cause the connection is always different. In Nigeria—and every part of the world—amapiano is big and that’s good for South Africans. We have to celebrate with them right now, as amapiano cuts across all countries and continents.”

“Money” (feat. Davido)

“ my brother and my main man. We have this chemistry that goes beyond us being colleagues; we’re quite cool friends. I didn’t wanna disappoint those who love hearing me and Davido together. So, this one is talking about me not wanting to look like I have money when I don’t, ’cause if you don’t have money, they’ll steal your wife!”

“Ale Yi”

“This was the last song I recorded on the project, and it’s just a nice vibe. I just knew it had to go out immediately when I recorded it! I was thinking about a lot of things, and even if you think from now ’til tomorrow, you can’t solve your problems—just forget your worries and enjoy yourself.”

“Fada” (feat. Phyno & Flavour)

“Having both Flavour and Phyno on a track is destruction already! Now spiced up with the Zanku as well. It sounds so perfect.”

“Energy” (feat. Rayvanny & Sho Madjozi)

“I recorded ‘Energy’ a year ago, and I’m just appreciating God’s work for creating these sexy women. This is a banger for dancers across the world. I’m looking forward to going to Tanzania and South Africa to shoot this video.”

“See Me So”

“This is just a vibe where I’m singing to a lady, proposing my love to her.”
